Aug 19-28 IBI

Oh Oh, starting to get lazy with the posting! Lets see whats new since Fairmont...
Spent most of last week at work doing IBI training - hard to believe how expensive it is to have an instructor read from a book...
Played poker at Gs last saturday, lost $40 but thats to be expected, I'm not that good yet. Played golf last Sun with Darryl, supposed to play tonight as well.
Didnt do much this weekend, me and Claire watched the entire 4th season of Six Feet Under in 2 nights. What a great show. I havent gone for a run since thurs, I better pick up the pace. Went to the gym today (benching 150 goal is 200 by christmas). These 2 guys had both benches for the entire time i was there (20+min) so i couldnt do bench. bastards.
Got a haircut today, leaving it longer than usual for Claire.
In the news:

• stocks still doing crap
• big storm Katrina in south US

Tugger wants some attention now.

Fairmont Aug 10-18

Frick I wrote this post and when i saved it there was an error and now i have to write the entire #!*$$ thing again. Short and sweet.
Claire took us to Fairmont, it was nice, bought a timeshare. Hope to travel the world with it.

Went golfing today (Aug 18) with P and H from work. It was pretty nice, Kanaskis. My tee-offs were the worst ever the past 10 years. lost 6-10 balls just on tee-offs. Still managed to shoot a 100 so not too bad overall I guess.

Renee and Davis came down to Lacombe, as well as Aunt Sandy. Visited gramma and granpas grave. Might meet Renne & Davis for dinner tonight.

In the news:

• Stocks doing crap
• Shuttle fleet grounded again
• BTK serial killer guy sentenced to life. scum.

The Deck

So its been an interesting few days since my last post. I got sick on friday. I went to Kane's on the way to mom&dads. Always a good time there. Anyway we started the deck Saturday around noon ( I was hoping to start by 9). All the wood and materials were ready to go, and we had the plan.
Weather was great. Me, dad, and stefan worked on it, it went pretty good. My dad didnt really stick to the plan too closely, but I dont think it'll collapse or anything. We just got the main level done, i'm not sure how the rest will get done after ignoring the plan, oh well. I just work here.
Got probably the worst sore throat of my life friday night, i was dropping straight echinacea without effect. had a sore throat all weekend and took today off work to re-coop.
Watched the UFC event on saturday and hung out with Kane some more.
Played WC sunday night. Went to the dentist today, no cavities, yay.
Runny nose, going through alot of kleenex, not sure if i should go to work, but i think i will.
Whats in the news?

• Peter Jennings died
• Shuttle return delayed
• Oil above $63 - shouldnt have sold me Suncor!

Saw a bit of Bush's energy plan speech, some of it sounded pretty good in fact. Tax rebates for buying effiecient cars, talk of nuclear tech, etc. Of course he talked more about how great coal is though. oh well.

Veggie Pate

Ever had Veggie-Pate? is friggin great, except is pretty hard to find in alberta, so I make my own. Anyways i just ate a large amount of this stuff, and i dont think i'll be eating again for a few weeks!

I had a normal work day today. P and D are back so hopefully I'll get more to do. Working on a chart for D.
S from work (nice guy from Yugo) and I are setting up a tennis game for next monday - that'll be nice, hopefully hes pretty good, but should be fun either way. G plays too, maybe play him sometime too.
Claires gone to Canmore for a couple days to help her parents sort out their basement. Friggin cat (Tugger) puked and pooped in the basement, I dont know what his problem is, maybe he's getting old because he has a pretty stress free life.
I'm going to Lacombe tomorrow to finally get started on that deck.
Whats in the news?

• my friggin stocks took a beating today, how does Bank of Montreal drop 4% in one day?
• Apple "invented" a new mouse with more than one button, big whoop! The rest of the world did that 10+ years ago, but somehow Apple is so creative.

Meeting for Paul for coffee tonight at 730. Dont know if i'll be going for a run today. it might be a good idea to let my knees rest every other day.

First Post!

Lets see, went to work at PC. In one of those slow periods at work, waiting for stuff to be tested. D talked about how he's using his corp to pay off his mortgage. Smart guy. I just switched from contractor to employee a month or so ago June 27. I guess I should give my info as this is my first post.
Single, but with Claire for 5+ years now, living together 1+ years.
No kids, 31 years old.
Hobbies (that I actually do) tennis, golf, video games, travel
After coming back from Nova Scotia, decided to go healthy. I'm running 4+ days a week, so happy my knee can handle it with a brace.
Whats in the news... lotsa NHL signings after the lockout, Iggy back in Calgary, awesome!
Plane crash in TO, nobody killed tho. Good. Dont like flying.
More US troops killed in Iraq.
Immediate plans?

• Looking forward to golf on Aug 18th (first perk of job)
• Help build deck for mom
• Finish bloody SAIT diploma (waiting on extension request)
• Get ready for boxing in sept

Well thats it for now. Hopefully I can keep this up since i have a laptop now.
